Knowing the level of noise pollution in your surroundings will help you make better choices for your living environment and measures to protect your ears. The application uses your mobile device’s microphone to capture sound, then conducts analysis and measures the intensity of sound in your environment, especially the space closest to the microphone. The unit of measurement for noise intensity is the decibel (dB).

You will be conducting sound measurements over a period of time. Then Sound Meter will calculate and display different noise levels: minimum noise level, maximum noise level, average level during measurement. With these indicators, the application will give warnings if the sound index exceeds the allowed limit that the human ear can hear. Information about the sound level during the measurement will be displayed directly on the graph. The histogram will give you the sound intensity for each time period, showing the change in sound from the start to the end of the measurement with an image.
